About our Summer Sessions
Friends Camp strives to be a special place where youth have time for play and for reflection, with creative arts, non-competitive games, waterfront activities, drama, discussion, and many other interesting and creative activities. We are a diverse and caring community that nurtures unique personalities each camper brings to camp.
Each session is full of many options, such as swimming, sailing, canoeing, crafts, games, and an overnight expedition to Indian Island on China Lake. Some of our campers come from Quaker families, but most hail from other backgrounds. We welcome youth of all faiths as well as those who identify with no particular faith at all. With our six-to-one camper-counselor ratio, Friends Camp is a wonderful place for friendships to grow.
The regular youth camp sessions usually accommodate between 85 and 110 campers, with 24 counselors. The tuition for the two weeks of Jones, Mott, Rustin, and Fell camps is between $815 and $1050. Campers can attend Friends Camp for up to two sessions (four weeks). If your 7 to 10 year old child is not ready to attend Friends Camp for the full two-weeks, you might wish to send him or her for just one week during our Jones Camp. You may choose between Jones Week One (starting on June 25th) or Jones Week Two (starting on July 2nd). The tuition for one week of Jones Camp is between $475 and $600
Teen Adventure Hike
During Rustin and Fell sessions, we offer an overnight camping trip for a few intrepid teen campers. Up to ten campers and three counselors will camp overnight and bag a peak in the beautiful and remote region of Western or Northern Maine. This will be a challenging hike. Campers who wish to attend Teen Adventure Hikes should be in very good shape and be able and willing to hike all day. You will need to bring sturdy hiking shoes and camping gear.
Refunds will not be available if your child decides not to go on the Teen Adventure Trip once they are at Friends Camp.
