Friends Camp strives to be a special place where youth have time for play and for reflection, with creative arts, non-competitive games, waterfront activities, drama, discussion, and many other interesting and creative activities. We are a diverse and caring community that nurtures the unique personality each camper brings to camp.
Each session is full of many options, such as swimming, sailing, canoeing, crafts, games, and an overnight expedition to Indian Island on China Lake. Some of our campers come from Quaker families, but most hail from other backgrounds. We welcome youth of all faiths as well as those who identify with no particular faith at all. With our our four-to-one camper-to-staff ratio, Friends Camp is a wonderful place for friendships to sprout and grow.
The regular youth camp sessions usually accommodate between 85 and 110 campers, with about 24 counselors and 10-15 additional staff members. Campers can attend Friends Camp for up to two sessions (four weeks). If your 7 to 12-year-old child is not ready to attend Friends Camp for the full two-weeks, you might wish to send him or her for just one week during our Jones Camp.
We’d love to help you learn more about Friends Camp and decide if our camp programs might be right for your child. Please poke around our website and give us a call! You can reach Anna– the camp director– at (207) 445-2361, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
